Meet Amelia Pickles
Amelia is the founder of AP Tuition and a fully qualified secondary school English teacher with over eight years of experience teaching English Language and English Literature in the classroom.
Having taught and prepared students for GCSE examinations year after year, Amelia knows the specifications, the mark schemes and — most importantly — the common sticking points that hold students back. Her sessions combine genuine subject expertise with the warmth and patience that help young people believe in themselves as readers and writers.

Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to all tuition provided by AP Tuition. By booking a session, you agree to the terms below.
1. Bookings & payment
All sessions must be arranged in advance with AP Tuition, starting with our online enquiry form. Payment is due in advance of the session, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Places on group sessions are confirmed only once payment has been received.
- Monthly payment plan: where a monthly plan is agreed, payment is due in advance on the 1st of each month and covers all scheduled weekly sessions falling within that month, at a 5% discount to the standard session rate.
- Monthly plan sessions cancelled by AP Tuition will be rescheduled or credited against the following month's payment.
- Either party may end a monthly plan by giving notice before the start of the next monthly period; sessions already paid for will be honoured.
2. Cancellations & rescheduling
- Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a one-to-one session. With sufficient notice, the session will be rescheduled or credited.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or non-attendance, will be charged at the full session rate.
- Group session fees are non-refundable for missed sessions, as the place has been reserved; where possible, catch-up materials will be provided.
- If AP Tuition needs to cancel a session, you will be offered a rescheduled session or a full refund for that session.
3. Punctuality
Please arrive on time. Sessions start and finish at the scheduled times; where a student arrives late, the session will still end at the scheduled time and the full fee remains payable.
4. Safeguarding & welfare
The safety and wellbeing of students is our highest priority. For students under 18, bookings must be made by a parent or guardian, who must remain contactable for the duration of each session. Any safeguarding concerns will be handled in line with current statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.
5. Conduct
Students are expected to engage respectfully and positively in sessions. AP Tuition reserves the right to withdraw tuition where behaviour disrupts the learning of others; in group settings this protects the experience of all students. Parents will always be consulted first.
6. Progress & results
AP Tuition is committed to helping every student make the best possible progress. However, examination outcomes depend on many factors, including student attendance, effort and independent study, and no specific grade or result can be guaranteed.
7. Materials
Resources and materials provided during sessions are for the personal use of the enrolled student only and may not be copied, shared or distributed without written permission from AP Tuition.
8. Privacy & data protection
AP Tuition collects and holds only the personal information needed to deliver tuition services — such as contact details, year group and relevant learning information. Data is stored securely, is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing, and is handled in accordance with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). You may request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time by emailing APTuition1@outlook.com.
9. Changes to these terms
AP Tuition may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, and material changes will be communicated to existing clients.
